OKA29 – The Little Mermaid, Politickin’, This Darn Halloween Candy

Hey folks,

We begin a celebration of Disney’s The Little Mermaid with a slight prologue about Bullet Journaling.

This joyful profane segment was followed by a rant disguised as a discussion on impeachment (Also #yanggang shoutout). Because we hadn’t talked about it in a while.

Also, a shoutout to Halloween and candy coma.

Have a great week, friends.

OKA 25 – The Funny, The News, The Spooky Scary. (feat. Coffee & Bailey’s)

Okay here we go!

On this episode, we’d like to share our first reaction to Bill Burr’s hilarious new comedy special, Paper Tiger.

We try the Reddit News Headlines Recap under a time crunch, and Maddie gives us some immediate responses after checking out the movie adaptation ofΒ Stephen King’s IT (the first chapter). Scary spooky movies are definitely not her thing.

Come one, come all! Have a good week, folks!

OKA Episode 23

Hello folks!

Here we have an interesting episode where we talk about two things and then some:

First off, we discuss Amazon’s Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, a delightful award-winning series we just started watching. If you haven’t seen it, stop by for a listen!

In lieu of picking something off the headlines, Madd and I thought we should look at reddit for inspiration and decided to check out the top headlines from this past week to find one uplifting headline. Might be the way to handle headlines moving forward, we’ll see!

And lastly, we wanted to get into the Disneyverse for a moment and talk about one of our favorite movies from childhood: Aladdin. We may have gone on a magic carpet ride express tangent about Disney’s insatiable lust for power, remakes, and our anticipation for Disney Plus. What the hell Disney, shut up and take our money…

Bye friends, have a great week!

OKA Episode 21: Back at it!

We’re back at it again folks, dayjob exhaustion has delayed the release of some of our episodes and that just bums me out! Alas, here we have a great conversation Maddie and I had before taking off for the music festival. I’m actually quite proud of myself: As we evaluate where we can focus our attention and energy in our lives, Maddie and I concluded that we need to let the podcast breathe and not over edit each episode into the ground. While I have the hardest time letting go of the edit, I have to practice restraint and tonight, I am pleased to report I did the least amount of cuts I’ve ever done on this podcast. We cram a lot of good stuff in a short amount of time and it turned out to be a fun episode. Come join us!

Much love,

J & M
